Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026
This policy describes what the ErisLink app ("ErisLink", "the app", "we") does with your data on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. Each item below names the data, where it goes, and why.
ErisLink is a client. We do not operate VPN or proxy servers, and we do not run an account system. The app connects to the service provider identified by the site code you enter ("your provider"). Your account, and the servers your traffic passes through, belong to that provider.
We do not sell, use, or disclose to third parties any data from your use of the app's VPN function, for any purpose. The app contains no advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, or tracking code.
1.Who Receives Data
- Your provider receives your sign-in details and account requests, and its servers carry your traffic while the VPN is on.
- Services the app contacts directly to do its job: Apple (version check), the cloud storage that hosts the site list, public DNS resolvers, and, if you open live chat, Crisp. Each is described below.
- ErisLink's developer receives none of your account details, traffic, or logs. The app does not send them to us.
2.Data the App Sends
- Site code. The code you enter is checked on your device against a public site list that the app downloads. The code itself is not sent anywhere. We host the site list on third-party cloud storage; as with any web request, the download exposes your IP address to the storage host. The request carries no account or device identifier.
- Email address and password. Sent to your provider when you sign in. Your password is sent to your provider again when you change it or delete your account.
- Account details. After you sign in, the app loads your plan, data usage, expiry date, notices, and server list from your provider, to show them to you and to connect.
- Live chat (iPhone and iPad, if your provider offers it). The chat screen shows your provider's support page, which uses Crisp, a third-party customer messaging service. Messages and files you send there go to Crisp and to your provider. If you are signed in, the app passes your sign-in token to your provider's support page so that its support staff can see your email address and plan details. Nothing is sent to Crisp unless you open the chat.
- Version check. The app asks Apple's App Store lookup service for its latest version number. The request contains the app's bundle identifier and nothing about you.
3.Network Traffic While the VPN Is On
ErisLink uses Apple's Network Extension framework. When you turn the VPN on, the app routes your traffic on your device, following the configuration from your provider and any routing rules you add: each connection goes either through one of your provider's servers or directly to its destination.
- We do not receive your traffic. The app does not send your traffic, the sites you visit, or your DNS queries to ErisLink's developer.
- Your provider's servers carry your traffic. Like any such service, they can see the connection details needed to deliver it, such as your IP address and the destinations you connect to. How your provider handles that is governed by its own privacy policy.
- DNS. For most domains the app sends no DNS query from your device; the name is resolved by your provider's server. Domains on the app's built-in mainland China list, and the addresses of your provider's servers, are resolved directly from your device by a public DNS resolver over encrypted DNS. Other lookup types are sent to a second public DNS resolver over encrypted DNS through your provider's server. A resolver receives the domain name being looked up; the one your device contacts directly also sees your IP address.
- Connection tests. To show server response times, the app opens test connections to your provider's servers and may request an empty test page from www.gstatic.com (Google). These requests contain no account information.
4.Data Stored on Your Device
- Your site code and the addresses of your provider's service.
- Your sign-in token and email address.
- Your password, only if you turn on "Remember me" (iPhone and iPad). It is stored encrypted.
- Your subscription configuration (your provider's server list). It is kept encrypted while the VPN is off.
- Your preferences and custom routing rules.
- A diagnostic log. While the VPN is on, it records timestamps, the domain names and addresses your device connects to, and errors. The log stays on your device. It leaves only if you copy it from the Diagnostic logs screen and share it yourself.
5.Data the App Does Not Collect
The app does not read your advertising identifier or any other device identifier, and does not access your location, contacts, photos, camera, or microphone. It does not track you across apps or websites. The only system permission it asks for is permission to add a VPN configuration.
6.Deleting Your Data
- Sign out removes your sign-in token and stored subscription configuration from the device. If "Remember me" is on, your saved email address and password are kept for the next sign-in.
- Clear cache (More screen) also removes your saved email address and password, preferences, and the diagnostic log. It keeps your site code.
- Reset (About screen) removes your site code, sign-in state, saved password, and stored subscription configuration.
- Deleting the app removes everything it stored on the device.
- Delete account. Your account is held by your provider. To delete it, open the Account screen, choose "Delete account", and confirm with your password. The app sends the request to your provider, which deletes the account and the personal data attached to it. Your provider may keep records that the law requires it to keep.
- Chat history is held by Crisp and your provider. Contact your provider to have it deleted.
7.Backups
Data the app stores on your device may be included in iCloud Backup or in backups you make to a computer. You control those backups through your device settings. We have no access to them.
8.Security
The app talks to your provider over HTTPS, and adds a second layer of encryption to requests when your provider supports it. A saved password is encrypted on the device. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
9.Your Provider's Policy
Your provider decides how it handles your account, your traffic on its servers, and your support conversations. Its own terms and privacy policy apply to that data, and we encourage you to read them.
10.Children
ErisLink is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
11.Changes to This Policy
When we change this policy, we update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If a change affects what data the app sends or to whom, we describe it here before the app version that makes the change is released.
